DIY Oxygen Whitener – Naturally Brighten Your Laundry
If you love the idea of clean, fresh laundry without harsh chemicals, this DIY Oxygen Whitener is for you! It’s the same concept as the Simply Bright oxygen whitener I sell on Etsy, but this version lets you mix up your own batch right at home. It’s easy to make, cost-effective, and safe for both standard and HE washing machines.
At Rustic Roots & Simple Living, I’m all about simplifying life with natural, effective, homemade products — and this one is a must-have for bright, clean laundry!
🌿 Why Make Your Own Oxygen Whitener?
Most commercial whiteners and stain boosters are filled with synthetic fragrances and unnecessary additives. This simple, natural blend relies on the cleaning power of sodium percarbonate (oxygen bleach) and washing soda to tackle stains, brighten whites, and freshen laundry — without harmful residues.
It’s eco-friendly, budget-conscious, and highly effective.

Add 1–2 tablespoons directly into the washer drum before adding clothes. Works in both warm and hot water cycles.
Soaking Whites:
